PH Ludwigsburg – Sports and Swimming Hall
On the PH Ludwigsburg campus, a new sports and swimming hall is being built for students of sports and education. The compact structure adopts the orthogonal campus grid, combining both functions in one volume while distinct timber frameworks respond to the different spans of the sports and swimming halls. A lamella wood facade defines the architectural character, complemented by transparent steel-and-glass facades opening to the north and east.
Inside, the two-story facility accommodates a three-court sports hall with tribune seating, a swimming pool with movable floor, as well as fitness, seminar, and office spaces. Once the new hall is complete, the temporary interim sports facility will be dismantled, making space for new outdoor fields including beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, football, handball, field hockey, and freeletics.
A new drainage system will also be integrated, with water directed to the adjacent artificial lake, supporting habitats for amphibians.
