Bruntál, one of the oldest royal towns in the Czech Republic, lies in the Jeseníky mountains and is known for its historic buildings, baroque castle, and rich cultural landscape. Despite its small scale, the town offers great potential for future development thanks to its compact design and harmony between people, nature, and place.

As part of a three-day program led by Prof. Herbert Dreiseitl, a team of experts and HfWU students, we developed an urban-landscape vision for Bruntál extending to the year 2070. The study analyzed trends in urban growth, landscape, industry, energy, transport, and society, resulting in a long-term strategy that was presented to local citizens. The outcome is a comprehensive guide for sustainable development in Bruntál and other small towns facing similar challenges.
